The WoE (War of Emperium) system allows your Guild to conquer one of in total 30 ancient castles located in 6 different cities and thus to earn very precious and rare items. All you have to do in order to participate in the sieges is to create a Guild, obtain the 'Official Guild Approval' skill* and organize a good battle strategy together with your friends!
As a Guild, you can add up to 3 other Guilds as your allies and as well up to 3 other guilds as your foes**. During the sieges, you will not be able to harm or damage your allies or attack their castles. Form a strong alliance and defeat your enemies!
In Ragnarok Online, there are two types of sieges for the War of Emperium: WoE and WoE:SE (Second Edition).
It is possible to check the castles' situation and their respective owners anytime, thanks to the 'castlewatch', a system updating websites with WoE and WoE:SE results in real-time. Furthermore, the castlewatch shows you how long certain castles have recently been defended.

Notes:
* For being able to get the 'Official Guild Approval' skill, a guild has to reach guildlevel 2 for gaining a skill point. The guild's level can be enhanced by increasing the 'Tax' of the players' ranks via the guild menu up to 50%. It means that all players who are 'taxed' share the base experience they achieve with the guild. Job experience is not affected
** Addition and removal of allies / foes is not possible during the siege times, but anytime beforehand and afterwards
