War
of Emperium: Second Edition
[ Introduction | War of Emperium | War of Emperium: SE ]

War of Emperium - Second Edition: Are you ready to fight?
The WoE:SE system has been implemented on European Ragnarok Online in March
2008 before episode 11.3. WoE:SE comes up with a lot new features, new
defensive and offensive strategies and of course new castles.
This type of WoE does not substitute or influence the old WoE system. Its many
features include new challenges, for example the facts that the castles are not
divided into separate rooms (no warps and no loading screens) and the maps are
much bigger than the 'old' ones.
WoE:SE castles can be found in Rachel, capitol of Arunafeltz and Yuno, capitol
of the Schwaltzvald Republic.

Unlike the procedures in the original WoE, the battle system in WoE:SE is based
on new unique strategies. Differently from original WoE castles, these ones
present a new, exclusive battle mode.
In addition to normal Guardians, which are powerful war-machines in
WoE:SE and even capable of destroying an enemy in one hit, magical Barricades
have also been implemented (3 in each castle), obstructing enemies' invasion,
and two new stones in addition to the Emperium which have to be destroyed at
the very first.
Only when those two Guardian Stones are broken, the first Barricade can
be attacked.
These measures support the efforts of the defenders and make it really hard to
take a castle.

Tactical Information: Guardian Stones

Within each Woe:SE castle, there are two Guardian Stones. These stones are
vulnerable to both physical and magical attacks which makes it easier
for the attackers to destroy them.
As long as these magical stones are alive, an indestructible barrier located at
the entrance of the castle prevents the attackers from advancing to the first
Barricade.
Thus, it is necessary to destroy both Guardian Stones before being able to
attack the three lines of Barricades behind the barrier. The barrier will
vanish as soon as the stones are destroyed.
Any player of the defending guild team can repair a destroyed Guardian Stone
a few minutes after they are destroyed, so that the fourth barrier will again
reactivate.
In order to aid the guild defending a castle, the Guardian Stones also have an
additional role of summoning Guardians while they are both active. The
number of Guardians that will be summoned depends on the defense rating of the
castle. Alas, once a Guardian Stone is destroyed, all Guardians he summoned
will be destroyed as well!
Guardians killed in the heat of the battle will automatically respawn after a
certain period of time. There is no way to influence the production of
Guardians, but the stones will produce new ones regularly.
Tactical Information: Barricades

Besides the first barricade created by the Guardian Stones, there are 3
other Barricades, each of them obstructing the advance of the enemy Guilds
towards the Emperium. Only once all of them are destroyed, it is
possible to proceed to the Emperium and to conquer the castle. Each Barricade
consists of 4 to 8 pieces.
Unlike Guardian Stones, broken barricades can only be restored by the defending
Guild's Master and only if the Guardian Stones are both active. It is
possible for defending guilds to attack the ones attempting to destroy the
barricades from behind.
Barricades are as well vulnerable to both physical and magical attacks.
Both types of obstacles, Guardian Stones and Barricades, are 'Neutral'
(element), 'Formless' (Race). Stones are 'small' in size, Barricades
'large'.
Tactical Information: Guild Flags
Another new feature in WoE:SE is the existence of particular flags placed
throughout the castles. These flags' main role is to teleport members of
the defending Guild to various set spots within the whole map.
Knowing strategic points and moving swiftly within the castle can be one of the
reasons for success and victory.
