Training Academy

In the Academy you will pick up the skill of manoeuvring your character and how to interact with "non playing characters" (NPCs), that is those characters that aren't actually other people but are placed in the game to perform various functions.

The guides placed in the Training Academy help you with the interface of the game. You will be given information and then tested on it through questions asked by the guides. If you answer them correctly you will get useful items.

At the end of the training ground there will be a test, which aims to discover what job you are best suited for. It is only a suggestion you are free to choose any job you want.

City guard - typical NPC
If you have selected a job you will be ported after quitting the Training Academy to the city where you can skill your job best. For example as a Swordsman it will be the city Izlude.

Direct Access

if you choose that option you will be transferred to a city randomly. This could be Alberta, Geffen, Prontera, Izlude, Payon or Morroc.

You have no chance to get back to the Training Academy but you can travel to any city where you can proceed with your job.

There are several options to move to a city.

  • In every city you will find Kafras (often at the City gate). They will port you to any city for a charge in Zeny.
  • As an Acolyte or Priest, maybe they will port you to another city if you ask them in a friendly way. Please do not beg them because they do not like that.
  • If you decide to walk that?s great but please be careful you are not protected beyond the city gates

If you are entering the City please search for the Job office. The guards can help you out with the right location.

The job offices are located as follows:

  • Acolyte: Prontera Sanctuary (Prontera)
  • Swordman: Swordsman Association (Izlude)
  • Merchant: Merchant Guild (Alberta)
  • Mage: Magic Academy (Geffen)
  • Thief: Thief Guild (Morroc)
  • Archer: Archer Vilage (Payon)

If you have enough Experience (Base Level 9 and Job Lvl 10) you can chose your first job. For this you have to prove your ability with a specific test.

If you have proven your ability, congratulations on your first Job!

Here are some other first tips for you or the first hours in Midgard

Communication:

  • If you want to talk with people in your area just enter the text into the command line.
  • With /whisper you can talk directly to a specific citizen anywhere where this person is located.
  • You can open a chat as well. This chat can be open for all or just private with a password. Another way to start a chat is to click just the symbol on the character you want to talk to.
  • You can talk in Party and Guild chat as well.

Guilds

As a member of a guild you can solve tasks in a community, play together with your friends as well as make new friends.

To build up a guild you need an item called Emperium. You can buy this at a merchant (often very expensive) or it will be dropped by monsters.

To be a member of a guild you will need to be invited. Maybe someone of your friends already have the ability to create one or you can even check out the market places where there are often guilds looking for new members.

General Tips

  • unt for easy monsters first. I.e. Porings, Fabre and Pupa. If you have enough experience try Chonchons. Choose monsters, which will do little damage on you so that you can regenerate your health points fast.
  • Take all items, which have been dropped by the monsters. You can sell them or use them for your own. Apples will give you an increase of your health points for example. For some items you will need a Magnifier to identify their ability. At the tool dealer you can buy an Magnifier.
  • In bigger cities there a blacksmiths who can improve your weapons.
  • In a City you can undertake Skill quests to gain new skills (i.e. First Aid)
If you have questions look at the FAQ, the Community section or at this document because we will expand this guide from time to time.

Have fun in Midgard!
