Visit Veins, the Canyon Village
For a long time, Veins had been sleeping in the desert valley of a deep canyon. Known as an architectural curiosity, it only attracted geologists who found Veins to be a source of unusual natural minerals of unique constutition. The geologists still examine the stone resources all around Veins and they carefully monitor the activities of Thor Volcano nearby. Many secrets lie buried deep in the catacomblike structure of the canyon walls, as the records of the ancient inhabitants of Veins are lost...
The people of Veins in Arunafeltz lived contented lives humbly worshipping their venerated Goddess Freya, so they were quite surprised by the trickle of strangely dressed foreigners who were willing to pay high premiums to obtain the mystic Hetarium. Until then, Hetarium was just one among many rocks, glossy black and shiny when bathed in light, so the people of Veins gladly sold the unuseful mineral to the foreigners.
Having heard news about the "black gold" mine in Veins, adventurers and fortune seekers came to the city, built houses and stores, until Veins had become the second largest city in Arunafeltz, regulated by a consul of the High Temple. And now, it is up to you to discover what is going on in the bustling town filled with homesick, entrepreneurial settlers and devout natives.
Follow the plot of the Arunafeltz questline that reveals the town's dark secrets. Veins can be reached by walking south, west, south, south from Rachel, as the town had grown way too fast for an airship or Kafra service to be established there, walking is until now the only possibility.
Thor Volcano
According to legend, Thor fought a fierce battle with evil fire spirits and hammered them down with such force that the earth itself was wounded and shed burning blood, thus creating Thor Volcano. No one can ascertain the truth of this story, but it is quite believable: the volcano’s caves are teeming with mysterious fire spirit monsters that attack adventurers that may be seeking shelter from the rain and typhoons outside. When the Hetarium craze erupted in Veins, the fire spirits in Thor Volcano grew even stronger and killed many people with their wrathful flames.
Although it has ever since been forbidden to enter the Volcano, strange uniformed men have been spotted inside and adventurers are needed to find out about their plans.
Thor Volcano can be found outside Veins and its three levels are full of new dangeorus monsters and challenges. On the third floor, the heat of the fight and the volcano's heat will make you sweat - but it's up to you to decide whether you're sweating because you're afraid of the monsters - or because you keep going, keep moving towards the center and keep fighting for honor and glory.
