I want to play for the first time. Where can I get the client?
There are several opportunities for you to get the client.
- The client will be included as an insert with a lot of magazines. Maybe you are able to get one. You will find a list of the magazines in the client section.
- Ask your friends. They might have a copy, because the client is free to copy.
- You can download the client from a number of mirror sites. You will find the links in the client section. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, it might take awhile but it will happen!
- Download time ISDN with 64Kbit/s up to 22h*
- Download time DSL up to 2h*

What are the hardware and software requirements to play the game?
You should have at least:
Pentium III with 500MHz
128 MB RAM
VGA card 8MB with DirectX 3Daccelerator support
DirectX 8.0 or higher
900 MB free disk space minimum
Ragnarok Online is running under Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP.
I do not have a graphics card with 3D 3Daccelerator in my PC.
The background of Ragnarok is all in 3D. Therefore for playing Ragnarok, you need a 3D card which can run the latest Direct X file.
What kinds of graphic chipset is the client surpporting?
The following graphic cards are supported.
NVidia Riva TNT or higher
Voodoo3 or higher
S3 Savage or higher
ATI Rage 128, Mobility rage/radeon or higher
Normally if you buy a computer you get a CD with a graphics driver, too. So please check that CD.
What internet connection do i need to have?
You are able to play Ragnarok Online starting with Modem (56Kbit/s) and up (e.g. ISDN, DSL, T1). We recommend ISDN for smooth game play.
I fulfil all the hardware and software requirements. How do I install the client?
- CD. Simply insert the CD. If autostart is enabled on your computer, the installer will start automatically. If not, you have to start the setup.exe. Choose the disk drive, where you want to install, but keep in mind, that a minimum of 800 MBit is required. After the installation is finished, start Ragnarok.
- Downloaded from the internet. Unpack the zip file and process like described above.
I am wondering what the different options in the set up menu mean, can you explain?
Here are some hints regarding the setup
- Setup: the acceleration rate according to the user's 3d card (Generally, the setting is Direct 3D HAL)
- Resolution : (from window mode to the point that user's monitor can support)
- Sound's setting : (off, 2d, 3d), the type of speaker, Sound beat, rate of sound.
- Voodoo 3 option : eliminates the booting to window when the big polygon appears on the monitor
- Light-map option : It helps you to read the map better on the older version of 3d card. Controls shadow, and light option.
The client start to connect to a patch server.. what's that for?
Every time you run "Ragnarok.exe", the newest patches will be downloaded automatically. These patches include bug fixes, extensions to the game and much more.
What about the text in the start window?
After the download of the patches is finished you should read the latest notice regarding events and common information about the game and much more.
I do not have a account, yet. How can I register?
After pressing the"Start Game"-button you will be directed to the login screen. If you are playing euro-RO for the first time, you have to register before playing. The "Register"-button will guide you to a web site where you will be asked for the CD code. Please enter the CD-Code and fill out your personal data including login and email-address truthfully.
Where can I find the CD-Code?
Depending on the magazine it is printed on the CD, on the envelope or the magazine itself.
I don&'t have a CD I have downloaded the client from one of the mirror sites. What should I enter for the CD code?
Enter 00000000.
I used a copy of the client from a friend?
If your friend did not provide you with a CD code use 00000000.
How to fill out the registration form?
Please fill out all mandatory fields including all personal data including login and email-address truthfully.
What about the email-address?
The email address is very important for game play and registration. It has to be a valid one, because the password will be sent to this address. The email-address can be used to delete characters in the game, too and it is not changeable easily.
Which characters are allowed in the User-ID?
All characters from a-z and numbers from 0-9. Please make sure, that the User-ID contains only small letters, even the first letter has to be small.
Where do I get my password from?
After registration you will get a password, which enables you to log into both the web site and the game. The password will be sent to the email address you provided while registering. Please change your password immediately, but remember to keep it difficult to guess.
How can I change my password?
Log in to the website and click on personal data. At the bottom of the screen, you are able to provide a new password.
The password is for both the game and the web site?
Yes. It is easier for you to login with one account.
What is the maximum length of the password?
The minimum length is 6 characters. The maximum length is 16 characters.
I have forgotten my password?
Type in your User-Id in the log in section of the web site and press "Forgot your password". Your password will be sent to the email address you have provided during registration.
Is it possible to change my email address?
Yes, but you then receive a new password sent to that new email address.
Why is the email address hiden on the web site? IS THIS MEANT TO BE PASSWORD?
Just in case you have chosen a simple password and somebody guess get knowledge of it, you are still able to change it.
